Profhilo in Birmingham — Bio-Remodelling Injectable for Skin Hydration & Elasticity
A high-concentration hyaluronic acid treatment that works beneath the skin's surface — supporting the natural production of collagen and elastin through a process called bio-remodelling.
Profhilo is one of the most established bio-remodelling injectables available in the UK, used by clinicians for skin laxity, dehydration, and loss of elasticity. Unlike dermal fillers, it does not add volume — it works by spreading through the skin’s tissue to stimulate collagen and elastin from within.
At Hello Skin Clinic in Birmingham, Profhilo is administered by a trained clinician following a prescriber assessment. Every treatment begins with a free in-person consultation to confirm suitability and discuss your goals.
Profhilo is a prescription-only injectable treatment. A prescriber assessment is required before treatment can proceed. Free consultation available — suitability confirmed before any commitment.
What is Profhilo and How Does it Work?
Profhilo is an injectable treatment containing one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid available in an aesthetic injectable — 64mg in 2ml. Unlike dermal fillers which use cross-linked hyaluronic acid to add structure or volume, Profhilo uses a thermally bonded, non-cross-linked formula that spreads through the skin’s tissue rather than staying in one place.
This spreading action — known as bio-remodelling — triggers the skin’s own fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin. The result, over a course of sessions, may be an improvement in skin hydration, texture, and elasticity in the treated area.
Profhilo is manufactured by IBSA and is a CE-marked injectable treatment with a well-established clinical record across Europe. It is not a filler — it adds no volume and does not change facial structure.
Profhilo vs Dermal Filler — What's the Difference?
Profhilo
- Non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid — spreads through skin tissue
- Does not add volume or change facial structure
- Works by stimulating collagen and elastin production
- Addresses skin quality — hydration, elasticity, fine texture
- Typically 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart
- Suitable for face, neck, and décolletage
Dermal Filler
- Cross-linked hyaluronic acid — stays where injected
- Adds volume and structure to specific areas
- Used for lips, cheeks, jawline, nasolabial folds
- Addresses facial contour and volume loss
- Duration varies by product and area treated
- Results are more immediately visible
Which Is Right for You?
The right treatment depends on your concern. If you’re looking to improve overall skin quality — hydration, elasticity, fine texture — Profhilo may be more appropriate. If you’re looking to address volume loss or reshape a specific area, dermal filler may be more suitable. Your clinician will advise at your free consultation.
Profhilo Treatment Areas
Profhilo is commonly used on areas of the face and body where skin laxity, dehydration, and loss of elasticity are most noticeable. The most common treatment areas include:
- Face — cheeks, jawline, forehead, perioral area
- Neck — skin laxity and crepiness
- Décolletage — sun-damaged or thin skin on the chest
- Hands — skin thinning and dehydration
Treatment areas and suitability are confirmed at your free in-person consultation. Not all areas are appropriate for all clients.
What Happens at Your Profhilo Appointment
Step 1
Free In-Person Consultation
Your clinician assesses your skin, discusses your concerns and goals, and confirms whether Profhilo is the appropriate treatment. A prescriber assessment is arranged before treatment can proceed. No obligation to proceed.
Step 2
The Course
Profhilo is typically administered as a course of 2 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart. Each session involves a series of small injections at specific Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) on the treatment area — a standardised injection technique developed for Profhilo to optimise spread and comfort.
Step 3
Post-Treatment
Small bumps at the injection sites are normal immediately after treatment and typically resolve within a few hours. Mild redness and swelling may occur. Strenuous exercise, extreme heat, and alcohol should be avoided for 24 hours. Full written aftercare is provided after every session.
Step 4
Results
Skin improvements may become noticeable from 4 weeks after the first session, with more significant changes following the completion of the second session. Results vary between individuals. Many clients choose a maintenance session every 6–12 months to support ongoing skin quality.

I have been to many clinics but this one has the best hospitality. Tekla is so passionate about her clients achieving a result. She will say Betty what you chose on our site pays more but it won’t give us the results I’ll suggest this even though it’s pay half of what you had previously chosen. That’s an aesthetician who put your body first above money. The clinic is the best decor and art i have ever seen in UK clinics

I had a treatment today for my back acne and pigmentation, and I’m honestly so impressed with the results already. After just one session, my skin has calmed down massively and the difference is clearly visible. My practitioner, Maariya, was incredibly welcoming and informative from the start. She explained everything in thorough detail, which made me feel completely comfortable and confident in the treatment. She also took before and after pictures on the same day, and the immediate improvement was very impressive. I’m really happy with my experience and can’t wait for my next treatment. Highly recommend!

Profhilo Birmingham — Frequently Asked Questions
What is Profhilo used for?
Profhilo is a bio-remodelling injectable used to address skin dehydration, laxity, and loss of elasticity. It contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid that spreads through the skin’s tissue, stimulating collagen and elastin production. It is commonly used on the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. It does not add volume — it works to improve overall skin quality from within.
How many Profhilo sessions do I need?
The standard Profhilo course is 2 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart. After completing the initial course, many clients choose a maintenance session every 6–12 months to sustain results. Your clinician will confirm the appropriate programme at your free consultation.
How much does Profhilo cost in Birmingham?
Profhilo pricing at Hello Skin Clinic is confirmed at your free in-person consultation. As a prescription-only injectable, the cost depends on the treatment area and the number of sessions included in your programme. Book via WhatsApp or call 0121 714 0999 to arrange your consultation.
What is the difference between Profhilo and dermal filler?
Profhilo uses non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid that spreads through skin tissue to stimulate collagen and elastin — it does not add volume. Dermal filler uses cross-linked hyaluronic acid that stays where it is injected to add structure, volume, or definition. Profhilo improves skin quality; filler changes facial contour. They can be used together as complementary treatments. Your clinician will advise on the most appropriate option at your free consultation.
Does Profhilo hurt?
Profhilo involves a series of small injections at specific points on the treatment area. Most clients describe a mild, brief discomfort at each injection site. A topical numbing cream can be applied before treatment to minimise discomfort. Individual sensitivity varies.
What are the side effects of Profhilo?
Common, expected side effects include temporary small bumps at the injection sites, mild redness, and swelling — these typically resolve within a few hours to 24 hours. As with any injectable treatment, there is a small risk of bruising, tenderness, or infection at the injection site. More serious complications are rare. All risks are discussed at your consultation before treatment proceeds.
How long do Profhilo results last?
Results from a Profhilo course typically last 6–12 months, depending on individual skin type, age, lifestyle, and aftercare. Many clients choose a maintenance session within this period to sustain the improvement in skin quality. Individual results vary.
